GAFFNEY, S.C. (May 7, 2018) – After having a great start to the NASCAR Xfinity Series OneMain Financial 200, Garrett Smithley was relegated to a 32nd place finish after a rear suspension failure late in the race at Dover International Raceway.

Smithley made it to round two in NASCAR Xfinity Series qualifying, and his No. 0 Meding’s Seafood / Stockley Tavern Chevrolet Camaro started the race in 23rd place. Smithley ran in the top-20 for most of the day and led the race for two laps.

“This finish is a tough one to swallow,” said Smithley. “This was the best car I’ve ever had at Dover, and we were on our way to a top-20 finish. I’m very thankful to Meding’s Seafood and Stockley Tavern for coming on board. We’ll have a couple weeks to look over everything, and the ‘Number Nuthin’’ team will come back stronger at Charlotte.”

The NASCAR Xfinity Series will take a two week break before the next race, the Alsco 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway on May 26th, 2018.
