CONCORD, N.C. – Ross Chastain turned in his best drive of the Xfinity Series season Saturday, scoring a 15th-place finish in the Hisense 4K TV 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
In the first race of the year, Chastain finished 16th at Daytona International Speedway, marking his best run until Saturday.
Chastain started 27th and steadily advanced through the field, finishing with the lead pack on the lead lap.
“A great day for us today,” Chastain said. “The Flex Seal Chevrolet was in tip-top shape, and the guys did a wonderful job in the pits.”
Chastain advanced two points in the Xfinity driver standings to 20th.
Ryan Blaney won the race, and Elliott Sadler kept the point lead.
The series moves on to Dover International Speedway in Delaware for a June 3 race.
