DARLINGTON, S.C. – Ross Chastain turned in another solid run in Saturday’s Sport Clips Haircuts VFW 200, finishing 14th in his third race at Darlington Raceway.
The finish marked Chastain’s 12th straight run in the top 20 in the Xfinity Series.
Chastain qualified 16th on one of the series’ toughest tracks.
“We had a good car and got some good laps in,” Chastain said. “It’s hard to stay out of trouble here, but everything went well. We hope to keep this momentum going.”
With the finish, Chastain moved up to 13th in Xfinity points.
Denny Hamlin won the race, and Elliott Sadler kept the series point lead.
Richmond Raceway in Virginia hosts the next Xfinity race Sept. 8.
