Chicagoland September 2013 Race Review – Landon Cassil
CASSILL 22nd IN CHICAGOLAND RACE
JOLIET, Ill. – Landon Cassill powered the LINE-X Chevrolet to a 22nd-place finish in Saturday’s Dollar General 300 Nationwide Series race at Chicagoland Speedway.
Cassill qualified 29th but pushed forward to as high as 18th in the middle section of the race before bringing the LINE-X car home 22nd.
“We got the car better in the first half of the race but then sort of got stuck in a position where we couldn’t move forward,” Cassill said. “It was a decent kind of day that we can build on. I appreciate the LINE-X folks stepping up and riding with us this week. It was a good weekend with them on board.”
The race win went to Sprint Cup invader Kyle Busch, who won the pole and led 195 of the 200 laps.
The Nationwide Series moves on to Kentucky Speedway for a 300-mile race Sept. 21.
