NEWTON, Iowa – Turning in some of the strongest performances of his relatively brief NASCAR career, Landon Cassill continued on a roll in Sunday’s Get To Know Newton 250 Nationwide Series race at Iowa Speedway, finishing 10th.

The finish was Cassill’s fourth straight in the top 13, lifting him into 10th place in the Nationwide driver standings. In the past six races, he has moved from 14th in points to 10th.

“This team just keeps giving me good cars, and we’ve been in the right place at the right time to finish well,” Cassill said. “This has been a very good season for us so far. I’m hoping we can continue to build on this.”

Cassill, who qualified ninth in the G&K Services Chevrolet, ran in the top 15 all day and surged to 10th near the end of the race.

“Landon is really getting everything out of the car now,” team owner Johnny Davis said. “I couldn’t be prouder of him and the guys on this team. They’ve really been strong over the past several races.”

The series moves on to Charlotte Motor Speedway for a May 24 race.
